My Philosophy

I am an Accessibility Advocate, Front-end Developer, and UX Designer living in the Phoenix metropolitan area. I am proud to have played a part in the success of many websites and applications by enhancing the user experience, building inclusivity and improving web presence for regional, national and international organizations. Before my career in web and application development, I was involved in the design and build of many environmental projects including sales centers, museums, and trade shows for several Fortune 500 companies. This is where I began my journey in user experience.

I like contributing my knowledge of accessibility issues, innovative design, and leading development practices to those in need. I am an individual who can think both creatively and analytically. Whether on a piece of paper, large open space or in the virtual world, all projects revolve around creating the best experience for the user.

I hold a Master of Science, Information Technology in Web Design from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Graphic Design from Arizona State University. I have a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) credential through the International Association of Accessibility Professionals organization. I am constantly learning new technologies, languages, and practices, and hold several other certifications. I am currently focused on Accessibility issues and UX design.

I have volunteered my time to organizations looking for design or development knowledge. I have taught Internet / Web Development Level I as adjunct faculty for Mesa Community College. I have spoken at and provided training on digital accessibility at conferences.

Any spare time I have is dedicated to exploring the world by either hiking the mountains, riding in the desert, kayaking the lakes or cruising to tropical destinations with my wife, Elizabeth and two kids, Emily and Ethan.
